Avatar , based on American science fiction film which is written and directed by James Cameron. The most important performers of this movie are Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, and Stephen Lang. James Cameron,master of evey visual tool takes viewers through the battle like a master tactician, visualizing how every turn in the fight, every valiant death or inhuman act, changes its course.
The 3D screen is alive with more action and the soundtrack pops with more rich music than any dozen sci-fi shoot him up you care to mention. Avatar premiered in London, UK on December 10, 2009, and was released on December 18, 2009 in the U.S. and Canada to commercial success. It grossed $27 million on its opening day and $77 million on its opening weekend. Within three weeks of its opening it grossed $1billion,becoming the second higest grossing movie worldwide after Titanic.
This film shows year 2154 on Pandora, a moon in the Alpha Centauri star system. Humans wants to explore Pandoras mine reserves of precious mineral called unobtanium while a race of endemic humanoids called the Navi resists the clone expansion which poses a great threat to the existence of the Navi and the Panoran ecosystem. The battle for Pandora occupies much of the final third of the film
Sam Worthington as Corporal Jake Sully, the film’s protagonist, is a disabled Marine who becomes part of the Avatar Program. His background as a marine helps the Na’vi warriors relate to him. Sigourney Weaver as Dr. Grace Augustine, head of the Avatar Program is a mentor to Jake Sully, and is an advocate of peaceful relations with the Na’vi, setting up a school to teach them English. Michelle Rodriguez as Trudy Chacn, a Marine combat pilot is assigned to support the Avatar Program. Stephen Lang plays as Colonel Miles, the merciless head of the mining operation’s security detail, who serves as the film’s primary opponent.
Cameron states that , “Avatar is an incarnation of one of the Hindu gods taking a flesh form. In this film what that means is that the human technology in the future is capable of injecting a human’s intelligence into a remotely located body, a biological body”.
