News Worldwide — Health nutrition in pregnant women: According to current health news pregnant women are skimping on vegetables and fruits due to which they gain unhealthy weight.
The health and nutrition experts say that in the present days, pregnant women are eating fruits and veggies less than half of the recommendations, consequently, one in three pregnant women gains more than recommended weight.
The current health news states that in a survey it was seen that most of the pregnant were having poor diets that was causing them to gain extra weight, developing the risk of blood pressure and anemia. This poor diet is resulting in lower birth weight of the babies, and risk of certain chronic diseases in them.
Pregnancy is such a stage in woman’s life when she has to be serious about her diet because it is the matter of two generations.
“Expectant mums need plenty of vegetables, fruits, and wholegrain breads and cereals, and moderate amounts of reduced-fat dairy foods and lean meat (or alternatives, like legumes). This will help them gain a healthy amount of weight and meet their needs for nutrients like protein, iron, iodine and foliate.” The experts reveal.
The current health news also states that in a survey, about 55 percent of the pregnant women desired to have knowledge about health and nutrition and a small number of them had a contact with health nutrition expert.
