HUNDEREDS OF MILLIONS DOLLARS FOR PAKISTAN, IN US DEFENCE BUDGET, ACCEPTED BY CONGRESS
December 21, 2009
Under the PCCF, Pakistan will be given a total of $ 700 million. The CSF applies to Jordan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and sometimes Egypt. Pakistan has an exceptional bill of between $ 1.7 billion and $ 1.8 billion against this fund.
The authorities who deal with this process consider that after adjustments, Pakistan should be able to get a little more than billion dollars from CSF.
The U.S state department said that Pakistan had suspended visas for hundreds of U.S officials including some accountants associated with the CSF.
The U.S reimburses Pakistan for fighting militants along PA
K-AFGHAN border under CSF.
President Obama is expected to send Congress an emergency spending measure of at least $30 billion early next year .The bill includes $101.1 billion for operations and maintenance and military personnel requirements in Iraq and Afghanistan and to carry out the planned removal of all US forces from Iraq by August 2010.
The expenditure bill upholds Mr. Obama’s proscribe on torment of detainees in US care, continues a common stipulation forbidding the establishment of enduring bases in Iraq or Afghanistan, and provides no finances to close the prison for alleged terrorists at Guantanamo Bay.
