News worldwide — Hurricane Irene is now in New York. The city saw a major evacuation ahead of Irene and looked like a ghost town. Hours of heavy rains are predicting heavy flooding in the city. As soon as Irene entered New York 36,000 people reportedly suffered power breakdown early Sunday morning.

New York’s Mayor issued a warning that New Yorkers will be waking up to likely hurricane and TORNADO damage. It is also reported that there is no more time left for evacuation, which in other words means the time for evacuation has ended.
As New York waited for an unseen and inexperienced hurricane, the forceful winds and power cut down was reported in different parts of the city and Port for Long Island Sound.

The Palisades Interstate Parkway entrance to the George Washington Bridge was closed.
It was Sunday 2 am that 36,000 people approximately reported power breakage in Staten Island, Queens and outer suburbs, Con-Ed said.
