Local breaking news: J.D. Salinger, 20th century American author has passed away leaving behind his writings for this immortal world. He was best known in 1951 for his novel “The Catcher in the Rye”. J.D Salinger died on Wednesday 27th January 2010 at his home in rural Cornish, N.H. His age was 91. Mr. J.D. Salinger died of natural causes Wednesday, his son, Matt, said in a statement from Harold Ober Associates.

“Despite having broken his hip in May,’’ agency officials stated, Mr. Salinger’s “health had been excellent until a rather sudden decline after the new year. He was not in any pain before or at the time of his death.
J.D Salinger was once considered rebellious, in his ironic, quiet, tweedy way, the sort of guy who stands in a corner for the whole party and then goes home with the most beautiful girl there. Jerome David “J. D.” Salinger was born on January 1, 1919 .His last original published work was in 1965 in the New Yorker. He gave his last interview in 1980.
