Pashtunwali part of Pashtun culture
February 12, 2010
Just like other codes of Pashtun culture among them stands pashtunwali. The codes of life followed in Pashtun culture including that of Pashtunwali are unwritten accepted laws and ideologies Pashtun culture has been following since long. It is among dominant and forceful ideologies of Pashtun culture.
The qualifications that comprise this segment of Pashtun culture are self authority, equality, assembly, elders, respect of all people, reconciliation or compromise, revenge, equivalence, law, clan, clanship, cousin and tribal rivalries, honour, pride, to give life to a person in need, to offer asylum, shared cooperative work, patrons, call for action, truce, protection and much more.

A general glance on these aptitudes gives an idea of unachievable tasks for modern civilized work. But it is these elements justly present in Pashtun culture that makes it distinctive and attractive to the rest of the world. There have been long rivalries on these grounds on Pashtun culture and Pashtoons have always taken these attributes of their culture as a pride.
