Pune bomb blast kills 9 and 60 Injured

World News net brings reports about recent Bomb Blast in Pune which took 9 lives and left 60 people injured. In a major terror strike after the November 26, 2008 killing in Mumbai, nine persons including four foreigners, all women, were killed and over 60 injured in a bomb blast which destroyed the famous German Bakery on North Main Avenue in Pune’s Koregaon Park near the Osho Ashram around 7.30 p.m. on Saturday. The explosion came a day after India and Pakistan agreed to foreign secretary-level talks in New Delhi on 25 February. The talks were suspended after Pakistani militants killed at least 166 people during a three-day rampage in Mumbai that started on 26 November 2008.
An eyewitness who was traveling in an auto rickshaw said he heard a loud explosion and smoke which blacked out the entire scene. Another eyewitness said bodies were scattered and more than 10 were seen at the site. Four shops were damaged near the bakery, which has been there for 22 years. The bag containing the bomb was said to be under a table, according to one account, and a waiter is said to have tried to open it. This caused the explosion which devastated the bakery, located near the Jewish Chabad House. A customer said he heard the blast, but escaped unhurt. This bakery is a popular spot with foreign tourists.
Even though no responsible suspects are arrested for this devastating incident, but the security agencies lays suspicions against Indian Mujahideen supported by Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT). Investigations are carried on if really Indian Mujahideen are involved or some other 3rd party is playing the cards. Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani condemned the Pune bomb blast and sought a “meaningful dialogue� with India. “We condemn terrorism in all its manifestations,� Gilani said in Rawalpindi.
