Robert De Niro turned down the invitation for the ceremony that was arranged to honor him, as he wanted his family to be allowed to join him.
The actor refused unless his five children were permitted to join him.
Robert De Niro is going be honored at the Kennedy Center Honors ceremony on this weekend. he plans to make the occasion a family matter, with his relations that include his wife and sons.
The celeb has revealed that it was hard to convince that White House people to permit the whole De Niro family.”Well it’s an honor, of course, and I’m taking all the kids and family.
“I’ve been going through a lot of problems trying to get them into the White House to meet Obama so I said (to the ceremony officials), ‘Just get the kids in.’ That’s the bottom line.” He said.
