February 16, 2010

Political news check: See this Picture! Do you recognize the face? IF you are Pakistani, You sure will recognize him. But does not this picture upsets you? Of course it does. I mean look at him. He is Bilawal Zardari Bhutto. Though he has added the name of great leader Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in his name but probably has forgotten the responsibility and dignity he should carry with this name.

Bilawal seems to be drunk and appears to be in a ball party, enjoying with his female friends. But this is neither a personal matter nor religiously correct.

I am saying this because Bilawal is the man for whom PPP is fighting against other political parties to make alteration in the age of Prime Minister of Pakistan.

But I don’t think a person with such repute and altitude deserves to be in that position. But, unfortunately soon this will be reported as negative propaganda against him as well. despite the fact I jsut found this picture in Google search engine as I was looking for something else.

Pashtun culture and Taliban are not one!

February 11, 2010

Political news check reports’:Pashtun culture is literally identified as people that speak Pashto and follow some specific norms of life mostly aiming at some social and political. The reality though is somewhat interlinked with the same sense of definition yet there is a lot that needs to be disclosed for a general understanding of the term Pashtun culture itself. The local inhabitant of Afghanistan and northern NWFP basically are pathans that have Pashtun culture as a norm to spend life.

Recently the Pashtun culture began to be recognized as one of Talibans’ way of life. But facts and reports from authentic sources conclude that the concept of Talibanization is far different than Pashtun culture. Call it unfortunate for pathans and Pashtun culture that the locality which is the demographic location of Pashtoons and the language are mostly the same; such as both Taliban and Pashtoons speak Pashto and live in Afghanistan or northern parts of north west frontier province of Pakistan.

Here are few differences that are visible and noteworthy in Taliban and Pashtun culture.

Pashtun culture revolves around Khan’s and Malik’s while Talibani culture revolves around an ideology. This difference among Pashtun culture and Taliban was heightened when Taliban in the very beginning of their up rise killed many tribal heads which were either Khans’ or Maliks’. It is believed that this stance was motivated to achieve a goal that aimed to make Pashtoons understand that Pashtun culture cannot tie them anymore.

Another huge difference between Taliban and Pashtun culture is that Pashtun culture focuses on these five fundamental concepts:

Pashtun culture, Nang
Pashtun culture ,Namoos which means self respect
Pashtun culture, Milmastiya meaning hospitality
Pashtun culture, Baadal that means revenge
And Pashtun culture Pakhtoonwali

while Taliban have total opposite mindset. It does appear in mind that Taliban do have one fundamental aspect similar to that of Pashtun culture which is Pashtun culture, Baadal but as mentioned above it means revenge whereas Taliban have been killing people for no reason other than to achieve certain goals.

Before I end this subject matter, I will also like to mention here that the word Taliban literally means students in Pashto language which historically prove to be true but later the word turned into Talibanization to represent a group of people that were found in militant activities.
