Facebook Builds Google+ kind of Facebook Hack

With several proclaiming that Google+ is deeply Facebook influenced, Vladimir Kolesnikov, Peng Fan, Zahan Malkani, Brian Rosenthal Facebook engineers have flicked the shift and engaged motivation from the novel Google Circles design with Circlehack, a more basic tool to create Facebook Friend lists.
For now the only method used to create lists on Facebook is via going to the Friends page, then clicking on the Account drop down menu, then clicking on “Edit Friends” and then again on “Create a List” and a group of other awkward junk.
It is a jumble, but vital if you want to attain the identical rough sharing features as Google+ on Facebook (which you can do by going to “Privacy Settings,” clicking “Customize,” then under “Make this open to” click oh hell just Google it).
While Circlehack does not have all the design features of Google+ e.g. the circles your friends are members of don’t glow upon hover and you can’t automatically set Groups or privacy settings within the app, it’s a beginning, atleast for Facebook.

iPhone setting Apple’s sales

Maxwell Risks its Entitlement in a $2.7 Billion Niche Market

It was the last Wednesday when Maxwell Technologies (MXWL) publicized the launch of a new ultracapacitor product. The product insures reliable engine starting for commercial trucks and other heavy vehicles.
Energy Information Administration said that the existing US fleet includes 4.2 million heavy-duty diesel trucks. Thee automobiles are subject to severe anti-idling laws and regulations who stress their battery systems and increase the risk that the engine will not be able to start when it needs to. While a dead battery is a discomfort for the regular user, it can origin a number of problems for a commercial truck which has to halt on plan and cannot manage to pay for the misplaced time or the out-of-pocket costs related with a roadside service call.
The Maxwell key is modest, and real. They have packed twelve of their 3,000 Farad BoostCap ultracapacitors into a standard Group 31 battery case with the important control electronics. Since heavy trucks often use four or more lead-acid batteries to power starting, lighting and accessories, the ultracapacitor pack is exchanged for one of conservative batteries, strengthened directly to the starter and then connected to the rest of the electrical system.
The installation is easy and simple. It can be done in less than an hour. Once the ultracapacitor pack is installed, it will assure trouble-free starting for the life of the truck even if the batteries get severely depleted. With an expected retail price of $1,299, the product should pay for itself in a couple of years by reducing the frequency of battery replacements, avoiding service calls that can cost up to $600 each and reducing downtime costs including late deliveries and spoilage of perishable products.
While Maxwell has not unconfined particulars on its probable revenue per ultracapacitor pack, it can be guessed that something on the order of half the retail price should flow back to Maxwell. With a national fleet of 4.2 million trucks and a revenue potential of $650 per vehicle, the addressable market works out to $2.7 billion. It’s a niche market, but a very attractive opportunity in a transportation sector that truly needs a better energy storage solution for starter systems.
Maxwell was caring to share their initial marketing exhibition and it obviously places out the benefits. These are the same basic devices that Maxwell uses for its hybrid bus and wind turbine products. Each of the 12 ultracapacitors is roughly the size of a soda can, which makes integration into a compact starter pack relatively straightforward. The biggest reason Maxwell could afford to develop this product for the trucking industry is that it’s already making millions of the basic ultracapacitor every year and the new starter solution is simply another use for a proven product that’s already being manufactured at scale. As a result Maxwell was able to develop the product in-house and plans to take it directly to end-user and OEM markets without bringing in another manufacturer as a partner. It should enjoy a significant first mover advantage, retain a higher degree of control over its own destiny and enjoy higher long-term margins than it would if the product had been developed in cooperation with somebody else.
Last fall Maxwell’s stock price ran from $12 to $17 in response to an automotive design win that will involve the installation of $50 BoostCap modules in up to a million new passenger cars over the next three years. When I compare the relative value of the two products and the fundamental end-user benefits of the two solutions, I have to believe the starter solution for heavy trucks will be an order of magnitude more important to Maxwell’s top and bottom lines over the next few years.
This is a very important product announcement that the market seems to have missed.

Skype is Down Again!!! Ouch Microsoft, User’s aint Liking you.

Update Skype 1: “A small number of you may have problems signing in to Skype,” Skype said on its Twitter page today. “We’re investigating the cause, and hope to have more details to share soon.”
Skype is down again.
Skype Goes Down. It just happened a while back and user have inexplicably blamed Microsoft On Twitter.
Skype appears to be down. A big number of users from all over the world have been found tweeting in a number of languages from Europe and Asia about their inability to connect. Other users are blaming Microsoft and even founder Bill Gates for the downtime. This is not the first time that Skype has been down. Just earlier in previous month Skype was down.
This issue of Skype being down stated since the deal between Skype and Microsoft was made. This never happened before and this is one reason that many user are saying that the reason for this down time of Skype time and again is Microsoft only.
Funnily enough, a bug in the Microsoft Windows client was to blame for that one.
Most probably Skype officials are not even aware of this down time as there is no news update on Skype down status on the official website or nay of the fan pages on Twitter and Facebook.
And it is not just on Twitter, If you check out Facebook fan page of Skype, you will se many people talking and mentioning about Skype down again.

The icloud beginning of Apple WWDC Keynote today symbolizes the transition from the cloud backup, synchronize and transfer files without problems with all devices, if you have an iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Mac or PC.
Although there are some similarities with those offered by Google (Doc and calendar synchronization, and Picasa, for example), is icloud more one-stop shop for all multimedia applications, music, documents, calendars and more, and it’s all in automatic synchronization.

As an added bonus if you read an iBook and insert a bookmark, or select the text you want to watch later when you visit the same book on another device you can pick up reading where you relax and all your selected text and notes will be there.

WWDC revelation of iCloud, iOS 5, OS X Lion

Apple has deep-rooted in a brief press release today plans to unveil its long-rumored device icloud World Conference this year the developer who is being held in San Francisco, June 6 The Cupertino, California giant electronics also debut its next-generation system of mobile operating IOS 5 and OS X Lion for Macs.
In addition to major software vendors announced the confirmation that Apple CEO Steve Jobs, who has been on sick leave the company since January, will appear at WWDC, presumably to make the opening address. But like all things Apple, but this particular remains enigmatic, with a press release saying that “Steve Jobs and a team of Apple executives” will begin “this year’s WWDC. We contacted Apple to clarify the Job role at the conference, but have not yet heard a response.
Of course, the details icloud IOS and 5 are still as difficult. Last we heard, icloud be a sort of combination of MobileMe and iTunes. Users can store their digital media files such as music and videos online in a database. This media can then be accessed by an IOS device like an iPhone, iPhone or iPod touch, which could give the media on a wireless network, including Wi-Fi and 3G.
Up to 5 should be in IOS, the data is still not solid, but here is our guesses about what we could see June 6: First of all, the entries in this weekend show a complete reform of the ads IOS, which were long considered a weak strength of the mobile operating system. Barnes & Noble to reveal enhanced Nook e-reader

Barnes & Noble is introducing a lighter, slimmer and low cost version of its e-reader, the price for this new nook is just $139. This price figure shows that it is ready to compete with rivals Amazon and Borders. The new nook will be launched on June 10th and it is called All New Nook.
It has 6 inch long touch screen and can carry up to 1000 digital books in it. According to reports Barnes & Noble Inc. stated that the latest Nook allows readers look up words, highlight passages, search and adjust font size by typing on an on-screen keyboard. Moreover, it has a weigh of 7.5 ounces and is 35 percent lighter than the first Nook.
Barnes & Noble consider that there is more of a conventional marketplace for a cheaper devoted black and white Nook reader.
For now Barnes & Noble is taking orders; while the device will be launched on or about June 10 and will be available at online stores too including physical Barnes & Noble and partner stores. “Our stores will continue to be at the center of the Barnes & Noble story,” Lynch says.
The company rights more than 25% of the digital book market.
Debatably the main improvement in the new Nook is a (wrapped) battery the developer says can last up to two months on a single charge. This is double what Amazon is affirming for the Kindle.
The new Wi-Fi will substitute the new black and white Nook Wi-Fi only and Nook 3G readers, when provisions of the previous models run out.
The new Nook is not providing a 3G version that can put off readers who do not have Wi-Fi access when they are on the go. “When you add a 3G wireless radio … that puts the price point up, and we’re not seeing the same amount of sales we’re getting on the Wi-Fi,” Lynch told me.
But Barnes & Noble trust that there are separate marketplaces for its color and black and white readers.
The new nook is already talked by large. Let’s wait and see what customers have to say about this one.
