Understanding the motives of suicide bombings
January 3, 2010
US introduced a series and versions of fear among individuals of not only Afghanistan and Iraq but also in Pakistan termed as its ally in war on terror. Ideologies have been one factor that has contributed in large to create world with divergent scenario’s since history has been written in any time. Similarly, an ideology shaping the new world order of war on terror has been placed against extremism and terrorism. The concept of JIHAD that America used to dismantle and defeat the godless communist in Afghanistan during the cold war era endangered the world after a decade.
This ideology has failed so far to encounter the terrorist activities but has accelerated its pace and course of actions. At first the suicide attacks were seen as the terrorists want to impose there will in shape of misinterpreted Islamic Shariah but now an analysis can magnify other facts that have boosted the number of these acts. At first when a person was sent for a suicide attack he had been brain washed under an ideology but today the revenge factor is more of the reason. History can explain the revenge factor in a conclusive manner. A female suicide attacker, who had seen her family been targeted by Rajiv’s government resulted to kill Rajiv Gadhi in a suicide attack for the reason of revenge. Similarly if one study’s the history of Palestinians suicide attacks one comes to know that they have been doing it as a way to take revenge where they face the mutilation and murders of there close ones.
The tactics of suicide bombing began to be used by groups and individuals due to the fact that they recognized that this tactic maximized their capability to terrorize their opponents reducing their morale and it was easier to motivate any youngster to end his life for a just cause of there own versions. The eight years of an ideological war introduced by world power America, today is daily encountered by these suicide attackers. At first they were motivated on grounds of self prompted ideology but today it is more of a revenge factor that has been a more active factor. A question arises why Pakistan has become a hot hub of these activities against the army men? and the answer is non other then the military operations taking place in south Waziristan and Swat killing many innocent civilians.
