Women education
January 1, 2010
Before answering that women should be allowed to get education or not, one must understand the aspiration of education. Education means providing every one an opportunity to understand rights and duties both while serving humanity in long run. Unfortunately in developing countries generally and in Pakistan particularly whenever the notion of women education has been brought in to question, it has been used in the context of granting her rights; only.
Therefore, women that are educated mostly devalue their social duties within a house in such societies. In their combat to have all rights they devalue duties assigned to them by the customs and religion. One cannot deny the right of having education for all. But the respect and dignity granted to women by the religion Islam must not be taken for granted by woman herself. Education should equip a woman with awareness to work for the well being of other women and mankind.
It should provide her a vision to understand the functioning’s of a family in short and a society by large. Therefore women education should be more focused to counsel her than to equip her with earning a life.
