Sources have reported that Pittsburgh KDKA-TV reporter Yvonne Zanos passed away this morning. The reason stated for her death has been the complications with ovarian cancer. She was turning 60 years on Wednesday.

According to sources in 1987 Zanos began working as a consumer reporter and became well-known for the beat: She had a column named “Does It Really Do That?” in which she tested a broad range of products thoroughly.

Yvonne Zanos died of ovarian cancer on January 8, 2010.

The station’s general manager Chris Pike said, “I would have difficulty finding someone who was as universally well-liked here and in the community. It’s a cliche, but what you see is what you get. Her personality, which was fun and contagious, came through the TV screen. Viewers recognized that she was genuine and enjoyed what she did, and that allowed her to develop a real special connection with viewers.”

Zanos was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2007.
